The Fête de la Musique is returning

As spring shades into summer, the time approaches for the Fête de la Musique, a participatory, festive and collective annual event that celebrates the night of the summer solstice on June 21st with live music performances across Paris. Book your stay at the Hotel Opera Vivaldi today to ensure you don’t miss this new edition of a festival that promises to be just as exceptional as ever.
What will the theme be for 2019?
What the theme will be for the 38th edition of the Fête de la Musique is not yet known. In 2018, the festival highlighted the value of being open to different cultures and the importance of sharing. In previous years, themes such as Pop, the Voice and urban music have been explored... But the essentials for this shortest night of the year remain unchanged; flood the streets of Paris with music by making the entire city a stage on which professional and amateur musicians and singers can demonstrate their talents.
Music throughout Paris
In the gardens, main squares, street corners and bars, as well as in more traditional venues, Paris will be alive with the sound of music during the summer solstice. You’ll find festival-related activities along the banks of the Seine, in the Jardin des Tuileries, Jardin du Luxembourg, Petit Palais, the Louvre, the Institut du Monde Arabe and in plenty other emblematic locations.
Music for everyone
From rap to jazz, folk, rock, blues, brass band or world music, all musical genres and styles will be represented. Performers such as the popular Papyfous Dixieland Company, key players on the Fête de la Musique scene, will bring you great performances in a festive spirit. It’s like a music party across the capital and you are invited!
